SMF which is abbreviate of Sulfonated Melamine Formaldehyde it is a melamine-based product which is used for the purpose of water reducing agent in the concrete admixtures. Using this chemical increases the workability and the strength of concrete mixtures. In normal kind of concrete, it saves approximately saves 40 % of cement consumption it can only be achieved through the use of SMF.

The SMF have high and very early strength griping material which has the capacity of water reducing as well. It is recommended to use on columns, beams, and slabs also in the area of steel congestion.

A dry based powder which is a high water reducer made up on the base of sulphonated Melamine Polymers. Due to its high reducing property it absorbs and gets wt very easily, in the process usually lump occurs, it does not contain fluidity for the long term. So the product gets modified with new techniques so that it can’t become lump or in the form of cake easily and it has the free-flowing property which makes the applying of chemical easy and good for storage as well. Melamine admixtures are usually used because of its high rate of water reducing which will obtain compressive and very high strength.

A product which is highly used for the reason because it is a high water reducer agent is commonly known as Superplasticizer. It is an admixture which is totally chemicals based and used in the areas where suspension of high dispersed particles are required. These polymers are used for avoiding the particle aggregation and it also improves characteristic of concrete applications. Their addition to mortar or to the concrete will allow the water & cement ratio reduction; it does not affect the workability of the mixture in any circumstances instead of it, it enlarges the performance of and self-consolidating of concrete.
